NHS Inductees

Cardinal High School juniors John K., Grace G., Sadie M., Morgan B., Samuel L. and Lawrence A. and seniors Audrie N. and Ashley R. were inducted into the National Honor Society during a special ceremony Dec. 6 at the high school.

They join current members Sierra B., Anna B., Darcy B., Lauren D., Abby G., Rachael L., David M., Sydney S., Hanna S., Kaitlyn S. and Avery V. NHS is composed of students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in each of the four areas: scholarship, leadership, character and service.

To be eligible students must maintain an unweighted 3.5 grade point average through the end of the second semester of their sophomore or junior year and complete an application. The application must be complete and list examples and references in regard to the areas of leadership, service, and character.

After a student becomes eligible in terms of scholarship, his/her name is presented to the National Honor Society Committee who then selects students for initiation into the National Honor Society based on all the four areas listed above. Once selected, students must maintain their good standing in all these areas to retain membership. Judge Timothy Grendell served as the guest speaker at the induction event.

Teacher Lip Sync Battle

Elementary school students had a great time at the Jordak staff lip sync battle prior to the winter break. Students enjoyed five different performances from teachers.

\Third-grade teacher Barb Tropf won the contest with her “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas” performance. In addition to the lip sync battle, 12 teachers and staff members also performed a parody rendition of “The 12 Days of Christmas” for teachers. The JES choir also sang and scholars had a great afternoon celebrating the last days of the year.
