Through Ohio’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program, NDCL offers high-quality and challenging college-credit courses on campus, providing their students with an incredible opportunity to begin their undergraduate degrees now while saving their parents thousands of dollars in university tuition.
Students and parents can learn more about NDCL’s 14 on-campus college-credit courses as well as other dual-enrollment options during an informative presentation on Feb. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the O’Brien Center.
College Credit Plus (CCP) is a state-sponsored program that gives qualified secondary school students the opportunity to enroll in courses that carry both high school and college credit. In most cases, the college tuition is paid by the state of Ohio.
Critically important information will be shared about the steps necessary to participate in the program. Even though NDCL offers CCP courses on their campus, families must still complete a separate application and funding request with the Ohio Department of Education in order to enroll.
Because the state has made some important changes to the CCP application process, even parents of students who have previously applied should attend the meeting to ensure their applications are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
“Each year some students and their families miss out on this money-saving educational opportunity because they fail to follow the state’s very specific application process,” explained Assistant Principal Denice Teeples, who coordinates NDCL’s CCP program. “That’s why I strongly urge interested students and their parents to attend the information session on Feb. 4.”
