On the evening of Nov. 19, an unidentified man robbed the CVS store in Chardon before exiting on foot, according to police officials.
At 8:48 p.m., the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the CVS store at 296 Center St. reporting a robbery had occurred, said Chardon Police Chief Scott Niehus Nov. 21.
“The clerk reported that they had been robbed by a light-skinned black male wearing dark pants and a dark gray long-sleeved shirt,” the chief said. “The suspect entered the store, approached a clerk and demanded the money out of the cash register. There was no weapon seen. (The clerk) was in a sales aisle when he approached her. She went behind the counter and gave him the money out of the register — an undisclosed amount of money.
“The male fled from the store and was last seen going toward the auto parts store,” he continued, adding no vehicle was seen.
Niehus said the suspect was wearing a mask that came up over his nose.
“(So) it’s a very limited description,” he said. “He had a very athletic build. The witnesses described him as possibly being 5’8” to 5’10”. Anybody with information or details can contact the Chardon police at 440-286-6123.”
