Play On! Opens Nov. 5
NDCL’s Performing Arts Department presents “Play On!” Nov. 5-7 in the Pat and Janet O’Brien Center for the Performing Arts. It is a comical story of a community theater group trying desperately to put on a play as they contend with the maddening interference of a playwright who keeps revising the script. The disasters and mishaps that follow will keep everyone laughing all evening long.
Tickets, at $12 each, are available online or at the box office 30 minutes before each performance. NDCL students may order their tickets online or at the box office free of charge.
Shirley Ivancic Stall, performing arts department chairperson, directs the production with assistance from mathematics teacher Beth Ward, English teachers Michalena Mezzopera ’14 and Andrew Zmecek, family and consumer sciencecchairperson Rachel Barlage and alumnus Drew Wright ’16.
The cast includes seniors Tyler Drago and Brian Picciuto; juniors Jordan James, Paige Fisher, Sofia Thornhill and Bailey Rice; sophomores Lara Vatandoust, Kaylee Daleyand Tuscani Orris; and freshman Hunter Zupancic.
Supporting the production behind the scenes are seniors Madeline Kuhlman, Kate Heublein, Elizabeth Keherly, Bridget Kinney and Justina Zolikoff; juniors Molly Caldwell, Victoria Baioniand Allison Giegerich; sophomores Hailey Kinney, Audrey Brlecic, Kaylee Daley and Tuscani Orris; and freshmen Claire Daugherty, Marissa Walker, Leah Schermer, Sophia Stolarik, Annalise Weber and Hunter Zupancic. The show is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
Alumnus Inspires Runners
More than 20 years after running cross country and track at Cathedral Latin, Trask resumed running and has not stopped for the last 45 years, running scores of marathons and ultramarathons. He is a member of the JFK 50 Mile Race 1000 Mile Club, having run that race over 20 times!
In his remarks to the team, Trask stressed the importance of perseverance and mental attitude. He also attested to the positive feelings and increased productivity that flow from exercising every morning.
“When you place your feet on the floor every morning, say to yourself ‘It will be a good day,'” he emphasized.
