Coniglio Named Regional NAPT Director
Transportation Director Melody Coniglio was elected as Region 3 director of the National Association of Pupil Transportation representing Illinois, Indiana, Manitoba, Michigan, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Prince Edward and Wisconsin. The National Association of Pupil Transportation is the leading association in student transportation and advocates for safe and efficient student transportation.
Mrs. Coniglio holds a certification in special needs transportation from the National Association for Pupil Transportation. She began her transportation career in 1995 as a bus aide and quickly moved on to become a bus driver, eventually taking on a management role in the transportation field. She is a repeat presenter at the Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation (OAPT) Annual Conference and Trade Show. She began serving the Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation board in 2015 as the secretary and recently as president.
Mrs. Coniglio’s membership in state and national professional organizations directly benefits the district as her connections and networking keep her up-to-date on legislation and issues impacting student transportation.
Teacher Earns Doctorate
Congratulations to Kenston High School English teacher Annie Brust on earning a Doctor of Philosophy in comparative literature from Kent State University. Dr. Brust successfully completed and defended her dissertation in textual criticism, medieval literature and modernist works. Her research focused on uncovering hidden voices from Medieval, Norse and Celtic manuscripts that are rewritten into modern text. Her dissertation will be published in January on OhioLink.
Dr. Brust teaches senior level and College Credit Plus English courses. She has taught at Kenston for the past 15 years.
Timmons Lunch Bunch
Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School Students selected for Lunch Bunch honors in October. Kindergartners honored with Respect awards were Dilan Candan, Charles England, Audrina Fox, Livia Greaves, Ella Lukas, Luke Majewski, Luke Senedak, Charlotte Soyka and Scott Wenger. First-graders honored were Greyson Ehrenbeit, Leighton Eliazo, Camdyn Gamellia, Rocco LaBoe, Eisla Ness, Ivy Roland and Ainsley Townsend.
Second-graders were Weston Balderson, Violet Beach, Brooks Krupsa, Lia Pealer, Wylan Pol, William Timmons, Ameliha Williams and Connor Wolfe. Third-graders were Mailen Ayala, Grace Bull, Mavia Corea, Lillian Hoover, Josephine Lesner, Hannah Smith and Aria Yokiel.
Timmons Zoo Crew
Timmons Elementary School third graders who work hard and show great effort were named to the Zoo Crew. Members of the Zoo Crew are rewarded with goofy and crazy games and activities before school each week for eight weeks.

Veterans Honored
As the home of the Bombers and with two Purple Star designee schools, Kenston expresses its gratitude to the men and women who protect and serve the nation in the armed focus. Kenston students and staff districtwide recognized and honored the commitment and service of the nation’s veterans. From the youngest learners writing notes and coloring pictures to the third-graders learning, performing and filming a patriotic musical and hosting a Veterans Day parade, recognition moved up the grade levels with various tributes concluding with a Bomber Media tribute featuring alumni in the military. Additionally, the district honors alumni who serve in the military daily with the digital Military Wall of Honor displayed in the cafeteria at the high school.
Gold Cards Available
All residents of Bainbridge and Auburn townships who are 60 years of age or older may obtain a free, lifetime “gold card,” which will admit them free of charge to any school-sponsored event in which students participate, including home athletic events, musical and dramatic performances. Gold cards are not valid when an event is sponsored by an organization other than the schools (PTO, Booster groups, etc.) as a fundraiser. Cards cannot be used for athletic events such as conference, regional or state playoffs.
