KIS Students of the Month
Kenston Intermediate School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for November. Students selected for Student of the Month “Gratitude” honors were fourth-graders Edward Abraham, Harper Alexander, Mason Campopiano, Owen Danzi, Brandon Kuch, Anna Richardson, Claire Saad and Julieta Torres-Guerrero; and fifth-graders Lily Calvello, Julia Crauthamel, Elena Dixon, Liam Heintz, Olivia Laverdiere, Georgia LeFeber, Tyler Namy, Thea Ness, Kendall Park, Huck Rundo, Madeleine Stice and Ella Wiese.
KHS Students of the Month
Kenston High School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for December. Students selected as Student of the Month honors were ninth-graders Ben Peters and Joshua Koltas; 10th-graders Julia Arnaut and Noah Melhem; 11th-graders Emma Bobnar and Robert Phillips; and 12th-graders Rebecca Rengers and Miranda Wood.
Speech and Debate Update
At the Austintown Fitch Speech and Debate Tournament, Ella Jewell was named tournament champion in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Eden Truax placed seventh in Informative Speaking.
The middle school team had a banner day with Brooke Carlson placing first, Grace Voudris second and William Turner third in Extemporaneous Debate. In Oratory, Ella Aznavorian placed second. In Declamation, Marin Carlson placed third, while Kherington Swader placed fourth in Congressional Debate.
Safe School Hotline
The Ohio Department of Education has partnered up with Ohio Homeland Security to offer all Ohio school districts a safe and secure tip line. The tip line can be anonymous, or callers have the option to leave contact information. Any threatening information or suspicious activity will be assessed by the Homeland Security team to determine the level of the threat. If it’s determined to be a high-level threat, they will communicate directly with local law enforcement and the school district.
Information that is only school-related, such as bullying, social media issues or other school-related information, will be routed directly to the school administrators to address.
