Kent State Geauga, Geauga Growth Partnership and Leadership Geauga will present “State of Geauga” at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L.) meeting.

Young Of Heart 

Feb. 4, 11:30 a.m. 

Geauga Young of Heart will meet at St. Anselm’s Parish Center in Chester Township. Bring a brown bag lunch. Dessert and coffee will be provided.

There will be musical entertainment by Dan Malaney. Annual dues of $20 may be paid at the meeting.

FGP Explorers Series

Feb. 5, 10:30 a.m.

Join Foundation for Geauga Parks to hike the Pioneer Bridle Trail in The West Woods, 9465 Kinsman Road, Russell Township. Dress for the weather and choose suitable footwear, including, poles, crampons or other accessories. Snowshoes are available for loan from the nature center while supplies last.

Bowling Extravaganza Fundraiser

Feb. 5, 6 p.m.

Kenston Baseball Association is hosting its annual Bowling Extravaganza at Roseland Lanes in Oakwood Village. Doors open at 6 p.m., with bowling from 7 p.m. to midnight. Event includes heavy appetizers, winner trophies, games of chance, silent auction and chance raffle

Admission is $65 each; 18 and over only. Sponsorships are available.

Join Skywatchers for “Godspeed John Glenn,” a virtual fact-filled, in-depth review of one of the country’s greatest heroes. Honor Glenn and celebrate the 60th anniversary of America’s first orbital space flight.

Woodland Wednesdays Workshop

Feb. 9, 6-7:30 p.m.

The 2022 Woodland Wednesdays series continues with a virtual program, “Woodland Management Tips That Pay.” Prominent foresters Dave Apsley, natural resources specialist – Ohio State University Extension, and John Kehn, service forestry coordinator, North – ODNR Division of Forestry, will present timely tips that will pay off down the road and help participants avoid costly mistakes.

Collaborators include NE Counties Farm Bureaus, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Division of Forestry and Holden Forests and Gardens.

NEOCAG Meeting

Maple Leaf Hosts Day at Races

Feb. 20, noon

Maple Leaf Community Residences will host A Day at the Race at St. Denis Golf Club, 11660 Kirtland Chardon Road, Chardon.

There will be food provided by A Taste of Excellence along with horse races, sideboards, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and door prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
