Rotary Student of the Month

Chagrin Falls High School senior Sam Kleid has been selected as the May Chagrin Valley Rotary Student of the Month. Kleid was chosen based on leadership and service qualities displayed in the community.

At CFHS, Kleid earned a variety of awards and recognitions including Tiger of the Semester, Ohio Seal of Biliteracy, Honor Roll and two-year letter winner for basketball. He also was chosen as the sports and media journalism editor for the “Tiger Times.”

Kleid is a member of boys basketball, Drama Club, Chagrin Falls Mental Health and Wellness Club, Link Crew, “The Growl” and Chagreen Environmental Club.

Kleid’s extracurricular activities include the basketball team and performing in the Drama Club’s “Mean Girls: The Musical.” He has volunteered at Stagecrafters Theater Day Camp. He also works as an overnight summer camp counselor and is a language teacher for the after-school program. Activities outside of school include attending the Stanford Media Journalism Workshop, School of the New York Times Summer Academy and Fundamentals First Basketball Academy.

While at CFHS, Kleid took the following accelerated classes: AP United States History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Spanish Language and Culture and AP English Literature.

Kleid will be attending Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and plans to major in English.

CFMS Students of the Month

The mission of the Chagrin Falls Middle School Students of the Month is to acknowledge and reward students for exemplary performance. The students depict Tiger Techniques: Think, Integrity, Grit, Effort and Responsibility. Each month, the seventh- and eighth-grade teams collaborate and choose a male and female “Tiger of the Month” and the students receive personalized tiger water bottles from the PTO.

Ingrid LatoreIngrid is kindhearted leader, respectful and helpful to others. She displays a positive attitude in class and always strives to do her best with any task put in front of her.

Tripp Holdren – Tripp has a wonderful work ethic and shares innovative ideas to classmates when working cooperatively in a group. He is always willing to participate in class discussions.

Aleena Aniev – Aleena is a hard worker and a wonderful role model for her peers in band. She has a great attitude and a willingness to improve on the trumpet – she is a pleasure to have in class. Aleena is thoughtful and very observant. Her clever ideas help her teams solve interesting problems. Aleena is a diligent and dedicated reader, writer, speaker and critical thinker in English class. She is a quiet leader.

Peter Fischer – Peter has a bright and shining personality. He is always positive and enjoys being an active member of the class. He is always willing to participate, answer questions, or lend a helping hand. You can tell that he truly cares about his learning and is eager to succeed in everything he does.
