Students Place at NEOSEF

West Geauga High School had two students participate in the Northeast Ohio Science and Engineering Fair (NEOSEF) at Cleveland State University. The whole school is proud of their innovations and accomplishments.

Matilda Tumada shared her project, “Development of Antimicrobial Soap Formulated with Rambutan Extract and its Impact on Bacterial Growth.” She earned second place in Chemistry and received multiple special awards from the American Chemical Society – Cleveland Section, Cleveland Clinic – Lerner Research Institute and the William R. Sweet Award for Chemistry.

Robert Vash took third place in Engineering and was recognized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers – Cleveland Section for his project, “Presentation of an Alternative Lock Design.”

Both students were recently recognized at the West Geauga Board of Education meeting.
