Fun and Community

During the first week of school, the library at Chagrin Falls Middle and High School became a lively space during study hall and recess time. Thanks to library media specialist Maria Sargiovanni, the library transformed into a dynamic hub where students could connect, play and unwind.

Students buzzed with energy, enjoying a variety of activities. They could be found coloring intricate mandalas, posing for photos with a school camera, strategizing over classic board games or answering personalized icebreaker questions. Each activity was a chance for students to reconnect with their peers and to ease back into the school year after summer break.

“One of our goals is to provide a wide range of activities and crafts all year to spark joy and creativity in the library,” said Ms. Sargiovanni. “We want to continue to build an inclusive community, reminding students that the library is a safe space for them to learn, grow and thrive.”

Through learning and laughter, Chagrin Falls Schools is showing that the library is a welcoming hub of connection and creativity for everyone.

7th-Graders Dive into Science

Emily Moore’s seventh-grade science students at Chagrin Falls Middle School wasted no time jumping into hands-on lab practice during the first days of school. While they may not have uncovered the next big scientific breakthrough just yet, students gained valuable experience in the fundamentals – measuring, recording data and even mastering the art of cleanup.

These early lab activities are designed to build confidence and prepare students for more complex investigations throughout the year. By sharpening essential skills and learning the steps of the scientific process, students are setting the foundation for future success in science.
