Makerspace Project Benefits School
Berkshire high school and middle school students recently collaborated in the district’s makerspace to refinish an 8-foot table for the special education conference room. Under the guidance of teacher Mr. Kostiha, students used project-based learning to apply academic skills to a real-world project. The work included using 3-D printers, carving machines, a laser etcher and printer, and a vinyl printer to restore the table and design custom graphics for the tabletop.
The finished piece will serve as a functional and decorative table for team meetings, conferences and other district business.
