Two firefighter/paramedics, Lauren Frank and Clayton Reed, were sworn in as full-time members. Frank began working in the department as a part-time employee in 2021 and Reed joined MTFD in 2023.
Firefighter Riley Lehmann, hired in August 2024, completed his initial training and is currently enrolled in paramedic school at University Hospitals Parma Medical Center, the chief said.
Four additional members joined the department over the past year, he added.
Part-time firefighter-paramedic John Sawyer, a recent paramedic school graduate, is also employed by the City of Cleveland Heights, the chief said.
Kaleb Benarski, Mike Meleski and Jayden Trammell were sworn in as part-time firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
Benarski also works for the Newbury Township Fire Department and Trammell is enrolled in paramedic school.
