As The Great Geauga County Fair inches closer, local public historian Bari Oyler Stith is inviting residents to explore the fair’s nearly two centuries of history through a pair of upcoming lectures. Stith, who is a public historian and trustee of South Newbury Union Chapel — a nationally-registered historic site with deep ties to the free speech and women’s suffrage movements — will present “Something for Everyone: Our Great Geauga County Fair” at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Bainbridge Public Library and at 1 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Geauga County Department on Aging.
