The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffs Office March 22-28. In total, the sheriffs office handled 317 calls during this seven-day period.

Agency Assist

March 26

12:50 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Search in the jail. The K-9 unit conducted a search of the entire jail for narcotics.

Animal Problem

March 22

2:36 p.m., Shedd Road, Troy. Horse and buggy on the run. Left Bylers Freezer Meats without occupants. Possible heading home on Tavern Road. Unknown location. Owners are looking with a driver.

March 23

4:40 p.m., Basswood Road, Munson. Possum in callers backyard. He is concerned because it was out during the day. Caller tried to throw snowballs at it, but it did not go away. Deputy advised. Animal left prior to arrival.

Citizen Assist

March 25

11:12 a.m., Burton Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Female found another gun that is loaded. She does not know how to unload the weapon. Deputy unloaded five-shot .38.

Disorderly

March 25

3:14 p.m., Kinsman Road, Middlefield. Female staying with caller. He advised she is running around the house naked and refusing to leave. Caller advised she is using drugs and found needles she was shooting up with. Caller hung up on dispatcher and did not answer on call back. Call clear. One arrested for drug paraphernalia.

Extra Patrol

March 27

3:16 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Extra patrol requested by WomenSafe. A new resident at their facility is afraid and has been threatened by ex-boyfriend, a 40-year-old white male. He has been in the Chardon area and is looking for her. He has an extensive history of violence. He is a member of a motorcycle gang in the Warren area and is prone to weapons and violence. Male is 300 pounds and 6-foot-2-inches. He has stated he will kill female. WomenSafe is assisting the female in getting moved to a facility farther away than Geauga County. Drive-through of the parking lot have been requested.

Fraud

March 27

3:54 p.m., Sperry Road, Newbury. Caller would like to speak with a deputy by phone regarding a phone scam. Caller had a suspicious phone call. Subject sounded like he was from India or Pakistan, according to the caller. They were asking from SSN and bank information. Caller told them no and they hung up. Wanted it on record.

6:40 p.m., Princeton Road, Huntsburg. Caller would like to speak with a deputy by phone regarding a possible phone scam. Caller did not provide her information to the Indian-accented male. The call came from a number which comes to Siemens Software in Fairfax, Va.

Harassment

March 22

3:49 p.m., Thorpe Road, Auburn. Harassment via Internet. Deputy will talk with BCI on this case. It is a Twitter account that was hacked and naked picture of the complainant was posted on a porn site that was found while deputy was on the site with the complainant.

Juvenile Problem

March 24

10:46 a.m., Robinson Road, Chardon. Male stating his mom is beating him. Mother is now on the line advising son is in trouble for stealing drugs from her and over Facebook. She did advise she smacked him for lying to her and being smart. She does have evidence on his Facebook account on her phone. He has no marks. No drinking; guns are all locked up. She advised she would talk to the cops when they come. Mother was unhappy with son and his drug problems, and took Facebook away from son.

March 25

7:28 a.m., High Country Drive, Hambden. Girl will not go to school; there has been a problem with bullying. Spoke with mother and father who requested deputy take daughter to school because she did not want to go. Deputy advised parents the sheriffs office does not transport children to area schools unless exigent circumstances exist. Deputy advised and informed parents of services offered by Ravenwood, if parents believe daughter is depressed. Deputy also advised parents to speak with school staff for advice.

Suspicious

March 27

8:41 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Amish taxi driver was advised to come to the sheriffs office by Middlefield PD. While transporting an Amish family he was advised that someone attempted to abduct their children. Incident may have occurred in Mespo, somewhere on Route 87 or possibly on Route 534. Deputy spoke to parent. Son and daughter were the ones stopped by the white van. Deputy advised family to call Trumbull County Sheriffs Office and gave her the phone number.

March 28

10:10 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller states there is a house across the street for sale. Nobody should be on the property. Caller states he saw a white van pull back there and blacked out. Checked area, vehicle was not able to be located. Appears subjects made and detonated a Drano bomb, putting aluminum foil into Drano. No damage done to property. No suspects at this time. Area was checked by FD and air quality was safe.

Theft

March 25

7:54 p.m., Cutts Road, Hambden. Employee had $200 in cash and a $50 gift card stolen from the locker room. Meet at the side entrance off of Cutts Road. Report to follow.
