Chardon Family Science Day

In a collaborative effort, the teachers and staff of the Chardon Local Schools are planning a Family Science Day. The event will consist of 20 to 25 different hands-on stations, which will allow students to explore many fascinating topics related to science.

Just to name a few of the exciting activities available, students will be able to investigate the effects of a chemical reaction, observe the unique properties of magnets, create gliders out of straws and paper that fly through the air when tossed, and build the tallest tower they can from blocks that can withstand a given mass.

The activities will be geared towards students in grades K-8. High school students, along with teachers, will be helping at the stations explaining the science behind each activity. The goal of the event is to foster the love of science in the students of Chardon.

Family Science Day is free to those attending, and is scheduled for April 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Chardon High School gymnasium.
