8th-Grade Trip to Gettysburg
The Cardinal Middle School eighth-grade class recently returned from an overnight trip to Gettysburg, Pa. Highlights of the trip included a guided tour of famous battlefield landmarks such as Little Round Top and Pickett’s Charge, a visit to the Gettysburg National Cemetery, where Lincoln gave his famous Address and a scary excursion to the supposedly haunted Jennie Wade home, site of the only civilian killed during the three-day battle.
Trip leaders Mr. Kruse and Mr. Sherman, on behalf of the students, would like to thank the CMS PTSA for facilitating the trip planning, Patty Fulop of Regal Travel for coordinating the itinerary and the group of parent chaperones who volunteered their time to make this valuable educational experience possible.

It’s unbelievable that the 2012-2013 school year is over. But it is true that summer is here.
Congratulations to the 92 members of the Class of 2013 who left the Cardinal Campus on May 24 after commencement with class, as they had through all four years of high school. We want to congratulate Mrs. Kathy Petrarca, English teacher, on her retirement after 35 years of sharing her passion for writing and language arts with our students. Many thanks to Mrs. Felicia Timas for finishing the year for her. Mrs. Bethany Drebus will be replacing Mrs. Petrarca next year, and Miss Kathryn Miller has been hired as our new intervention specialist.
It is now time to look forward to the 2013-2014 school year. All students are now required to perform community service hours as a requirement to graduate from Cardinal High School. Seniors will need 20 hours, and all others will need 40 hours. Just pick up a form outside the office, or get it online.
