St. Lukes VBS for Seniors

Chardon Ministerial Association and Northeast Mission Area Council are hosting the first annual Vacation Bible School for senior citizens at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road in Chardon. It will be held July 23-26, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Pilgrims Hay Day VBS

Pilgrim Christian Church will hold Hay Day Bible school Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The one-day program is for children 3 years old through fifth grade. Lunch is included.

Call the church at 440-285-8791 or stop by the church located at 202 S. Hambden St. in Chardon to register. Registration deadline is July 21.

Registration forms can be emailed, if requested. For more information, call the church between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Hambden Congregational VBS

The Hambden Congregational Church is holding the Son World Adventure Park Vacation Bible School July 16-18 from 6-8:30 p.m. Children will have a great time singing songs, creating crafts and playing games while discovering that Jesus provides what they truly need in every challenge of life.

All children 4 years old through fifth grade are welcome. There is no charge.

Chardon Baptist VBS

A free Vacation Bible School will be held at Chardon Baptist Church, 363 Wilson Mills Road, July 28 through Aug. 1, each evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

This years theme, Investigation Destination Following Clues to the King of Kings, will include Bible stories, music, games, puppets, skits, crafts and snacks.

All children who have finished kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to attend. An adult class will also be provided.

Celebrate Recovery

Morning Star Friends Church in Chardon will be hosting Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered 12-step program that uses the 12 steps from Alcoholics Anonymous. The core of the program is based on eight principles for healing that are formulated from the Beatitudes in the Bibles book of Matthew.

The program is supported by Geauga Municipal Court Judge Terri Stupica for persons ordered by the court to attend a 12 step or addiction recovery program. Meetings are held every Wednesday at 7 p.m. with a meal and fellowship prior to the meeting beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Starting the week of July 14, the program will add three step study groups. One group is for men only on Sundays at 9 a.m. beginning July 14. The other groups are for women only; one group will meet Sundays at 9 a.m. beginning July 14 and the second will meet on Mondays at 7 p.m. beginning July 15.
