KMS Power of the Pen
The Kenston Middle School Power of the Pen team competed at the regional Power of the Pen tournament. The seventh-grade team placed first overall, with Kenston placing fourth.
The team is comprised of seventh-graders Ainsley Bradbury,Emily Hall, Haley Hall, Christa Neimann, Barbara Ptackova and Jessica Sunderhaft.
For the second year, Georgie McCarley earned Best of the Best honors. McCarley and Erin Mast will compete at the state tournament at the end of May.
OMEA Solo, Ensemble Winners
Kenston students recently competed at the Ohio Musical Educators Association Solo and Ensemble Contest for Instrumental and Vocal performers. The concert choir and seventh-grade girls’ choirs each earned a “superior” rating while both high school bands earned “excellent” ratings.
District Art Show
The community is invited to celebrate Kenston Schools 43rd annual District Student Art Show May 1 from 6-9 p.m. at Kenston High School, 9500 Bainbridge Road.
The art show will feature a variety of student artwork from all grade levels, including work inspired by famous artists and other cultures, wood and scrap sculptures, graphic design, mixed media illustrations, portraits and landscapes.

Kenston Local Schools are committed to locating, identifying and evaluating all students with disabilities from age 3 through 22.

AfterProm Preview
Kenston parents have spent hundreds of hours to create an AfterProm party themed “Your Story,” recalling favorite childhood memories. On May 3 from 8-10 p.m. at Kenston High School, the Kenston community is invited to a preview.
AfterProm is a long-standing tradition at Kenston to provide a drug and alcohol free party for juniors and seniors after the prom. Community volunteers have worked all year to provide this safe and memorable event for the students.
