Pre-Game Spaghetti Dinner

Kenston Booster organizations invite the Kenston community to a pre-game spaghetti dinner on Sept. 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Presale tickets are available at Kenston Community Education or can be purchased at the door. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under.

After dinner, come cheer on the football team against Chagrin Falls. It is a “white out,” so wear white Kenston apparel.

Homecoming Parade

Kenston’s annual homecoming parade will take place Oct. 9.

If a business or organization would like to participate in the parade, please contact KHS athletic director Scott Pierce at 440-543-3046.

Seeking Advisory Board Members

The Kenston Board of Education is seeking interested community members to a serve two-year term on Kenston Citizens Advisory Committee (KCAC). The board will fill one two-year position created by an expired term.

The composition of KCAC is nine community members, the district treasurer, the district superintendent and one member of the board of education. Community members serve for two or three-year terms. KCAC will have a minimum of four meetings per year.

The Kenston Board of Education created the KCAC at its November 2006 meeting. KCAC was created with the overall purpose to provide input to the board on matters, financial and otherwise, as seen from the Kenston community’s perspective reinforcing the district’s vision statement that “an exemplary school district is committed to establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with its community.”

By Oct. 10, individuals interested are asked to submit: one page of reason why the applicant desires to serve on KCAC; one page of resume data including background, education, experience, professional accomplishments and major strengths; and two letters of recommendation. Send the documents of application to President, Kenston Board of Education, 17419 Snyder Road, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.

Community members that have applied in the past and would like to be considered are asked to send a letter stating their interest by Oct. 10.

Interviews by the board will take place by the end of October with duties beginning in November. It is desired that the membership be as diverse as possible on a number of demographic and professional variables.
