The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 21 through Nov. 27. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 344 calls during this seven-day period.

AGENCY ASSIST

Nov. 24

6:07 a.m., Kinsman Road, Middlefield. Grey Nissan Maxima heading westbound on 87, tried to break out the window of a car at the Mespo Commons with a crow bar and demanded money from the occupant. White male in his 20’s with shaggy hair is the only description. This happened approximately 30 minutes ago. Deputy responded to area and checked for vehicle, unable to locate vehicle.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

Nov. 21

9:06 p.m., Wood Hollow Drive, Munson. The caller is claiming that his mother stepped on his dog on purpose. No one has been drinking. No weapons. The mother claimed she tripped over the dog. Deputy spoke to the male in the roadway as he was leaving to go home. He stated that his mom stepped on his puppy on purpose. The dog checked ok. The complainant’s mother and father both stated that the dog got in the way and it was accidental. It was never stepped on, just brushed with a leg. No violence, nor reported violence nor threats, just the dog issue.

EXPLOSIVES

Nov. 27

3:59 p.m., Madison Road, Parkman. Caller thinks someone is setting off explosives. Complainant advised that she heard what she believed to be a tanarite explosion in the area. She stated that she saw the article in the paper regarding the recent action taken by the Geauga County Sheriff Office. Deputies were in the area and heard no additional explosions. There is no way to determine at this time where the suspected explosion came from.

FOUND PROPERTY

Nov. 23

9:29 a.m., Howard Drive, Chardon. Caller found a News Herald bundle of news papers a few months ago with the plastic strap in their yard. They found the same thing today. Caller was told to call if it happens again. Deputy spoke with complainant who advised paper delivery guys are leaving plastic tie straps on his property. Complainant advised he has made numerous attempts to notify the News Herald. Deputy advised he would call News Herald or distribution center in Newbury to notify management of problem and advised enforcement action will be taken if littering is observed in the future.

INJURED PERSON

Nov. 26

2:36 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Claridon. Caller called and said her brother hurt himself and to send someone over. He called the sister and she is not home. Unknown what type of injury or how he hurt himself. She said he sounded slurred. She is approximately 10 minutes out. Female called back, said her son went over there. He said he doesn’t need an ambulance but still not sure what happened. She was advised police were still on the way. Deputy responde, minor head injury.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

Nov. 21

7:57 a.m., Cedar Road, Munson. 17-year-old unruly juvenile. No physical parents at the neighbors. Juvenile in the house. Weapons are in the home. Caller doesn’t think he knows were they are at. West Geauga senior was suspended from school and now is uncontrollable. He made a threatening call to another student’s parents. He knew where weapons are, father doesn’t think he’d use them. Parents will meet with deputy in driveway.

MEDICAL

Nov. 24

7:39 p.m., Chardon Road, Chardon. Customer would not give info. Stated the store employee appeared drunk or high but did not smell like it. Said he did not look well and thought he needed medical attention, deputy en-route. Deputy advised there is no cause for concern. Employee is fine and deputy can cancel. No need for ems.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 22

11:25 a.m., Clay St., Huntsburg. A car came into our driveway and went back to the barn area. The male was wearing a long dark jacket, he looked to be in his 40’s. He got out of his car and knocked on the barn door. He saw us looking thru the window and then ge got back in his car and left. This was at 10:55 a.m. No need to see a Deputy, just want it on record.

Nov. 25

2:39 p.m., Butternut Road, Burton. Caller states at about 2:20 p.m., two vehicles pulled into her driveway. One driver got out and got into a black vehicle, she thought it was her roofer and a Silver GMC was left in her driveway. She does not know who it belongs to. Deputy advised. The vehicle was dropped off at the wrong address. Deputy spoke with the owner of the vehicle and she said she would send someone to get it.

THREATENING

Nov. 22

10:30 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. 911 call. Male reporting he received a threatening text from a women. “It’s a wonderful day for a drive, I hope your brakes are working”. Caller was advised it was going to be some time before Deputy can respond. Deputy attempted to contact the female with no success. Male wasn’t sure how to take text from ex-girlfiend.
