The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 5-11. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 283 calls during this seven-day period.

CIVIL DISPUTE

Dec. 10

9:41 a.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Locked out of house and I need to get back in. I pay rent and the roommates left and locked the door knowing I don’t have a key. They don’t want me in the house because I am going to take my TV and leave. They don’t want me to take the TV. I have lived here a week. Deputy spoke with the roommate on the phone who agreed to come back to the residence to let him in to get his belongings. No further action at this time.

EXTRA PATROL

Dec. 8

8:14 a.m., Knotty Pine Lane, Pearl. Middle school age boy waits for the Chardon bus. Caller states it is dark and unsafe for the boy sometimes. He sits by the stop sign on Knotty Pine and vehicles have to go around him. Caller is concerned for his safety. Bus garage told her to call sheriff. Sheriff responded. On scene, however complaint came in after bus pick up. Will check on it on a later date and time.

Dec. 9

10:38 a.m., Autumn Ridge Drive, Munson. Request extra patrol for suspicious vehicle. Occurred last Saturday, Dec. 6, at 4 a.m. Smaller white vehicle, possibly a Chevy Cavalier with loud muffler went around circle and pulled half way up the complainant’s driveway with the parking lights on. He did exit the vehicle and approached the house. By the time the complainant got from room to room to check, she saw him running back to the vehicle. Male had on a white jacket with hood up. No further description. The complainant was advised to call next time when it’s happening.

HARASSMENT

Dec. 6

4:00 p.m., Jackson Drive, Burton. Caller states her ex keeps driving by her house and takes pictures outside her house, and then texts the pictures to her to make sure she knew he was driving by and is harassing caller. Deputy spoke with the complainant regarding ongoing issues with the father of her son. She stated that they recently broke up and that last week, he made a verbal threat to her, which was not reported to the police. She stated that she spent the night in a hotel in Solon and that he showed up there. Solon police were called, a report filed, and weapons were secured from his vehicle. She stated that since the incident in Solon, he continues to contact her via text messaging and phone calls. No additional threats have been made and he is currently staying with family in Ashland, Ohio. She was given advice to document the calls and text messages and how to file for a protection order first thing Monday morning.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Dec. 6

7:23 p.m., Butternut Road, Newbury. Van slid into the ditch. Female used a driveway to turn around and thought there would be a turn-around at the end. There was not, so she backed partially into the yard and ended up getting stuck, causing large ruts in the yard. Deputy spoke with the property owner and advised him of the incident. He just requested it be documented and he would contact the female at a later date. No further action at this time.

SUSPICIOUS

Dec. 5

5:49 p.m., Madison Road, Thompson. Just south of address there is a SUV stuck in the field. Caller does not believe that anyone is aloud on the property. Deputy responded. Two hunters were on the adjacent property hunting and needed to be picked up since one of them is disabled and has a hard time getting around. They pulled onto the other property for easier access. They apologized and were sent on their way.

Dec. 8

9:36 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Dogs barking north of the building and it sounds like something is getting hurt. Deputy advised. Elderly male is out hunting raccoons with two dogs. Dogs chased a raccoon off his property. He retrieved the dogs, returning to his property.

Dec. 9

5:21 p.m., Tavern Road, Parkman. Twenty minutes ago a male with a camo jacket and hood was in the area selling magazines. Male got vulgar with the complainant when they didn’t want to buy his magazines. Last seen at the house at Newcomb and Nash. No need to stop, just check the area. Deputy advised. Unable to locate.

THEFT

Dec. 5

10:06 p.m., Auburndale Drive, Auburn. Son has stollen some money from them and they would like advise on what they can do. Deputy advised. Spoke with complainant, who alleges their son may have taken some misc change from a change jar. They at this time wanted advice only on what to do if this type of behavior continues. Advice given. No further action at this time needed.

Dec. 10

3:07 a.m., Valley Road, Newbury. Purse taken from unlocked vehicle in driveway. Another vehicle on prem-ises also was broken into but it is unknown what was taken. Deputy advised. Two vehicles gone through with items stolen. Located some items in the front yard. Owners will make a lost of stolen items.

TRESPASSING

Dec. 7

10:34 a.m., Whitney Road, Montville. Male in lobby asking to speak with a deputy about land. Neighbor entering complainant’s property and unplugging drain. All of the piping from the drain and plug is on complainants property and not disturbing a natural waterway. Com-plainant does not want to approach neighbor because he has an anger issue, so he will ask his step-daughter to speak with neighbor or he was advised to contact the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office next time this occurs.

UTILITY PROBLEM

Dec. 11

8:47 a.m., Pioneer & Princeton Road, Huntsburg. A dump truck lifted its bed and pulled wires down along the entire road and one of the wires is neck high. A van window was broken. Caller called on a Cisco phone and hung up prior to getting additional information. Deputy advised. Con-tacted the caller back and obtained his information. Caller had to leave but will return in 30-40 minutes for a report. While dumping gravel down the driveway on private property, the driver struck a phone line causing damage. No further assistance requested. Windstream ticker with a high priority. Time Warner was advised.
