The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 19 through Dec. 25. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 250 calls during this seven-day period.
CITIZEN’S DISPUTE
Dec. 21
3:48 p.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. The caller is being accused of molesting children. He advised there are eight people that are there wanting to assault the caller. No weapons are seen. The suspects are all now back inside the location. The caller is waiting outside in his tanker truck. He is at the truck entrance. Deputy responded. Male not on medication. Boss does not want male to operate vehicle. He was trans-ported to Chardon Motel.
DISORDERLY
Dec. 19
7:45 p.m., Ravenna Road, Auburn. Approximately five people fighting in the parking lot. Unknown weapons, but someone did say they would kill another if they came at him. Can see one truck with headlights on and a lot of yelling. Caller advised she could hear a person say, “Your blood is all over me.” Deputy responded. The two males who are co-workers and friends were outside talking in the parking lot. They both received rides home. No further action needed at this time.
FIREWORKS
Dec. 20
10:26 p.m., Autumn Ridge Drive, Munson. The caller advised the people near the sawmill were setting off fireworks again. He wants the IOC to call him. Deputy spoke with the complainant. He advised that fireworks are a weekly occurrence in the neighborhood; however, they have stopped tonight. He was advised to call the next time they start so whoever is lighting them off can be cited. Complainant advised he will call as soon as they start next time to have someone respond.
FRAUD
Dec. 22
8:06 p.m., Clay Street, Montville. Caller received a call from a male regarding his granddaughter. Male told the caller his granddaughter had been in some trouble and he needed to send money to help her. Caller sent a total of $2,000 in two separate trans-actions. Caller then called his granddaughter and found out she was home and had never been in any type of trouble. Caller has a phone number for the male who called him, but nothing more.
MEDICAL
Dec. 24
5:51 p.m., Hautala Road, Montville. 55-year-old female cancer patient. She is breathing. Possibly took too many medications. Her eyes are barely open. Hasn’t made threats to harm herself. Deputy responded. No signs to believe it was an intentional act. Family did not believe it to be intentional either. Assisted as needed. Female transported to the hospital.
SUSPICIOUS
Dec. 20
3:21 a.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller is in a black Mazda at the Circle K. Vehicle keeps following her so she pulled into Circle K. Suspect vehicle is a dark four-door car, unknown male, in the area of the YMCA. Deputy responded. Com-plainant advised she was being followed by a dark four-door car with two people inside. While I was speaking with the complainant, the vehicle pulled into the Circle K where we were. I spoke with the driver of the vehicle who stated she was delivering newspapers. Complainant was ad-vised of the same by dispatch.
Dec. 21
7:51 a.m., Mock Orange Lane, Auburn. Caller states that the trunk on a silver Buick Lacrosse is wide open at that location. He has not seen any activity in the area, but there are no lights on in the house nor anyone is awake. He cannot tell if anything has been removed or if it has been forced open. Deputy advised. The owner forgot he left his trunk open.
Dec. 22
6:03 p.m., Welk Road, Chardon. Caller located a catheter bag in her yard. She states this is the third time someone has thrown one in their yard. Deputy advised. Complainant believes that the catheter bags are coming from a neighbor, but just wanted it documented at this time. If it continues, they may pursue other options.
Dec. 24
10:38 a.m., Tavern Road, Burton. Caller believes that the neighbor down the road just past Hubbard has keys to her home and is entering the property without her permission. Deputy spoke with the complainant. She is suffering from early stages of dementia. Deputy contacted her son-in-law and advised him of the issue. Party advised they are fully aware of her illness. The son-in-law advised they are leaving the country tomorrow and will be back on a later date and left a contact.
Dec. 25
9:47 a.m., Aquilla Road, Burton. Caller was away last night and it appeared someone tried to break in using a crowbar. Deputy advised. Sometime late last night, as the homeowner was not at home, someone tried to pry the front door open, but was unable to make entry. Extra patrol requested.
