Township Meetings

Geauga Park District Survey

The Geauga Park District is asking residents to complete its community survey to help with its planning to encourage residents to enjoy and participate in the activities and events at the GPD’s parks throughout Geauga County. The Bass Lake Preserve, The Rookery and The Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve are all located in Munson Township.

The survey, at http://bit.ly/gpdsurvey2015, is open through March 31.

‘South Pacific’ at NDCL

A five-run performance of the popular Tony Award- winning musical “South Pacific” take place at the Pat and Janet O’Brien Center for the Performing Arts at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson. Performances run Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., March 1 at 2 p.m., March 4 at 6 p.m.; March 6 at 7 p.m. and March 7 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 each and should be reserved through NDCL’s ticketing system. Call 440-286-6226 for information.

Free Sunday Dinner

St. Luke Episcopal Church 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson, offers an open invitation to a free Sunday dinner March 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Fellowship Room. There will be a choice of soups, breads, salads, desserts and more.

Donations are not necessary, but will be appreciated. To help prepare or serve the dinner, or for more information, call 440-285-4641.

Celebrate Recovery

Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson, invites those seeking to overcome an addiction to its next meeting of a 12-step recovery program March 4 at 7 p.m. The program offers help, encouragement and fellowship. A free meal is offered at 6:15 p.m. The weekly meetings are free; preregistration is not required.

Tri-County Coin Club

Coin collectors of all ages are invited to the next meeting of the Tri-County Coin Club March 12 at 6:45 p.m. at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson.

Following a short business meeting, there will be a 50-plus lot coin auction, door prizes, coin displays and more. The monthly meetings are free and open to all. For more information, call 440-564-7142.

Senior Police Academy

A four-week course, Senior Police Academy ’15, for senior citizens on all areas of safety, home security, con and fraud protection, and much more, will be presented from 10 a.m. to noon April 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the Geauga County Safety Center (Sheriff’s Office), 12450 Merritt Road, Munson.

The cost for the course is $15 and includes a Police Academy golf shirt. Make checks payable to Geauga County Department of Aging and mail to 12555 Ravenwood Drive. Payment is due no later than March 20. Priority will be given those who have not previously taken the course. For more information and transportation, call 440-279-2130.

Geauga Co. Dog Shelter

The Geauga County Dog Shelter, 12513 Merritt Road, is always in need of dog food, treats and warm bedding, especially during this frigid, record-breaking cold winter. Call for daily open hours and more information, 440-286-8135 or 440-279-2130.
