Meet the Superintendent
The West Geauga Board of Education invites the community to an open house to welcome West Geauga Local School District’s future superintendent, Dr. Richard Markwardt. The open house will be held April 9 from 6-7:30 pm in the West Geauga Middle School cafeteria, 8611 Cedar Road, Chester Township.
Senior Citizens Recognition
The 25th annual West Geauga Senior Citizens Recognition Dinner will be held on May 6 at 4:30 p.m. in the West Geauga High School cafeteria, 13401 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township. Sponsored by West Geauga Local Schools and the Rotary Club of Chesterland, the evening promises to be both entertaining and full of friendly faces.
Payment of $5 per person will be collected at the door. Valet parking will be available.

NEOSEF and District 5 Winners
The 62nd Annual Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair was held at Cleveland State University March 10.
West Geauga students earning special awards are: Katherine Kulp – Stockholm Junior Water Prize Water Environment Federation; Austin Maguire – Cleveland Clinic Department of Pathobiology Society for In Vitro Biology; Lexi Ober – U.S. Navy/Marine Corps. Office of Naval Research; Will Snyder – CSU Washkewicz College of Engineering; Chad Townsend – American Society of Civil Engineers; and Meena Chauhan – Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine Cleveland Clinic Children.
Second place winners are Austin Maguire, Victoria Grabinski, Natalie Cizek, Kelly Cooper, Lexi Ober, Meena Chauhan and Lindsey Kulp; third place winners: Katherine Kulp and Chad Townsend; and honorable mention: John Wenger and Will Snyder.
On March 21, a talented group of science students competed in the Western Reserve District 5 regional science fair.
Representing West Geauga High School were: Natalie Cizek, Kelly Cooper, Nathaniel Grabinski, Victoria Grabinski, Katherine Kulp, Austin Maguire, Anna Murray, Lexi Ober, Chad Townsend, John Wenger, Heather Wilson and Angela Volcensek.
Representing West Geauga Middle School were: Meena Chauhan, Julia Grabinski, Lindsey Kulp and Alex Novitski.
Victoria Grabinski, Katherine Kulp, Austin Maguire, Meena Chauhan, Julia Grabinski and Lindsey Kulp will be advancing to the State Science Day, which will be held on May 16 at The Ohio State University.
Congratulations to all of the West Geauga students for their fine showing at the District 5 Science Fair.
