Empty Your Medicine Cabinet
The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office, 12450 Merritt Road, Munson, offers a safe and easy way of disposing expired and non-expired, hazardous and non-hazardous, medications. Liquids are not accepted. There are drop boxes in the lobby, which is open 24/7.
Appliance Recycling
Munson Township offers Munson residents an e-waste container for electronics, computers and counterparts, monitors, microwaves, stereos, toasters and anything that is plugged in to operate – except televisions. The container is located in the recycling area behind the Munson Fire Station.

GCJFS Summer Camp
Geauga County Job and Family Services (GCJFS) will again offer children of low-income families the annual GCJFS Summer Camp and Enrichment Program. The program is funded solely through donations from churches, businesses, individuals and civic groups.
Checks can be made payable (with “Summer Camp” notation in memo) and mailed to Geauga County Job and Family Services, P.O. Box 309, Chardon, OH, 44024.

Al-Anon Meeting
The next weekly meeting of the Al-Anon Group (Alcoholics Anonymous) will be held May 1, from 8-9 p.m., at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson.
Al-Anon offers support and encouragement to those seeking to overcome an addiction to alcoholic beverages. The meetings are free; preregistration is not necessary.

At The Rookery
A weekly wildflower walk will be held May 4, from 1-2:30 p.m., at the Geauga Park District’s Rookery in Munson. The walk is through level terrain and will be led by a park ranger who will relate folklore along the way. Dress for the weather.

NAMI Peer Support
The Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will hold a peer support group meeting at 7 p.m. May 7 at the Geauga Board of Mental Health & Recovery Services, 13244 Ravenna Road, Munson.
Geauga County NAMI provides education, support and advocacy to those affected by mental illness and their families. The monthly meetings are free and open to the public. Preregistration is not necessary.

Save The Date
The Geauga County Genealogical Society (GCGS) will meet at 7 p.m. May 12 in the Bostwick Room of the Chardon Library. Dr. Deborah Abbott, Ohio Genealogical Society trustee, will give a lighthearted look at two famous Cleveland celebrities: Bob Hope and Chef Boyardee.

Reminder
Munson Township’s annual Fishing Derby for Munson Township residents will be held May 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Scenic River Retreat, 10900 Mayfield Road.
Bring fishing poles, bait will be provided. Catch and release only. Prizes will be awarded for most fish caught.
