Memorial Day Service
The Munson Township Board of Trustees extends an invitation to attend the annual Munson Memorial Day service, rain or shine, on May 25 at 8:30 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery. The invocation will be given by the Rev. Chris McCann of St. Luke Episcopal Church followed by the presentation of colors by Munson Boy Scout Troop 91. Guest speaker will be County Commissioner Blake Rear. Pastor Roy Williams will deliver the Gettysburg Address and a gun salute will be given by V.F.W. 6519 and American Legion Post 167. Taps will be played by Jim Vinciquerra and Bob Siktberg.
Address Signs
The Munson Fire Department advises the need for address signs to be placed prominently at the end of the homeowner’s driveway. In the event of a fire or medical emergency, it is important to have the address visible. The recommended green, reflective signs are available to Munson residents at the Munson Fire Station for only $10 each.
Chardon Toastmasters International
The Chardon Chapter of Toastmas-ters International generally meets at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday at Munson Township Hall. The meetings offer an opportunity to improve speaking and presentation skills with friendly support and constructive feedback.

At the Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Munson offers weekly classes in line dancing every Monday at 12:45 p.m. and round dancing every Tuesday at 1 p.m. A Spanish class is also offered on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.

NDCL Golf Outing
Registrations are being accepted for the 15th annual Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Golf Classic to be held Aug. 7 at Fowler’s Mill Golf Course in Munson.
Shotgun start and scramble at 9 a.m. Winking Lizard will cater snacks and lunch. Cost per golfer is $150 or $500 per foursome. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Proceeds benefit the NDCL Scholarship Fund.

Armed Forces Day
The third Saturday of May has been declared Armed Forces Day on which we honor and salute all members, past and present, of the United States Armed Forces. Fly the beautiful U.S. flag on May 16 in tribute to those who have given, and continue to give, so much in defense of our country.
