The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 22 through May 28. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 388 calls during this seven-day period.

BURGLARY

May 27

3:55 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller came home from work and her house had been broken into through the front window and ransacked the entire house. There are multiple items missing. Not in progress, nobody is at the property now except the owner. He will wait outside for an officer to avoid contaminating any evidence.

FOUND PROPERTY

May 24

4:27 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Caller found a small black pistol in a bathroom of a new house. Deputy advised. Received found handgun from complainant. Located owner who provided receipt and serial number proving ownership. Owner of the gun recently moved out of complainant’s residence and forgot about where he secretly placed this weapon. No crime.

SUSPICIOUS

May 23

10:56 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Male possibly passed out on the steps. Deputy advised. Male sitting on the steps at Mac’s Tavern. Male was kicked out of the bar because he had too much to drink. Male already contacted a taxi to pick him up. No further action required.

May 24

8:28 p.m., Bundysburg & Peters Road. Report of several juveniles chasing buggy’s on bicycles. They refuse to disburse or desist. The complainant states she does not want to speak to a Deputy. Juveniles located, parent advised she will handle the problem within the family unit.

THEFT

May 28

2:05 p.m., Ravenna Road, Auburn. Caller would like to report the theft of bread racks from the Inn. They were taken by an Orlando Bread employee. Deputy spoke with the owners who stated The Orlando Bread Company used to deliver bread twice a week to their restaurant, now no longer does. Yesterday a bread delivery driver showed up with an order. When they told him they did not want the order, the driver left taking the bread racks with him. The owners want the racks returned. I spoke with the supervisor of Orlando Bread, who stated the racks are property of Orlando Bread. All parties were advised this was a civil matter.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

May 22

7:50 a.m., Rapids Road. Red Honda on Rapids cut me off and brake checked me and ran me off the road. There is no damage to my car, and this occurred on 422, two miles west of 44. Complainant advised that the driver of the red Honda was laughing and wanted to start a road rage incident. No violations observed by Burton PD.
