Paving Project in Hambden
Hambden Township’s 2015 paving project should be completed by the end of the week. The roads to be paved were Penniman Drive, Tudor Place, Teal and Heron drives, Regents Way and Bates Creek Drive. Ronyak Bros Paving has been doing the project.
Trustees want to thank residents for their patience during this time if theirs is one of the roads involved. If anyone has any questions, call the township hall at 440-286-4364 and leave a message. I will call back as soon as possible or email me at the address below.
This past winter took a toll on many of the roads and the road crew has been working very hard to complete repairs. The first roads to be patched had to be those that were included in the paving project. Now that those are complete, the township can move on to take care of the other roads needing attention.
Again, trustees ask for the community’s patience. The township strives to do the best possible job for all of its residents, but not every road can be the first road completed. The roads will be patched in the order of those with greatest need first.
Memorial Day Observance
I was truly disappointed to not be able to attend this year’s observance. Trustees would like to thank everyone who participated in the parade and service as well as the fire department for once again hosting its pancake breakfast.
A very special thank you goes to Judge David Fuhry for stepping in as the speaker and to Bill Gertz for reading of the veterans’ names at the township park.
Thank you also to all who attended. The people are what make Hamb-den Township the very special place it is to live.
Community Picnic Meeting
The next meeting of the picnic committee will be on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the township hall. There are several new faces on the committee and some great new ideas for this year’s 30th anniversary celebration. The committee can still use all the help it can get, so if anyone would like to be involved, please attend the meeting.
The committee is also looking for donations of items for the Chinese auction. To donate a new item, just drop it off at the township hall or give us a call for pickup.
