Hambden Congregational Church will host its annual car show on Sept. 20 from 1-4 p.m. Registration begins at noon.
A free event, there will be food, raffles and music. Everyone is welcome.

Fall Trash Day
Fall Trash Day will take place at the township park Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to noon.
No yard waste, garbage, paint or hazardous chemicals will be accepted. The township will accept old appliances (Freon need not be removed), old building scrap, lawn mowers, tools and even campers and boats.
Secure shredding will also be available. The times for shredding will be announced closer to the date.
Call the township hall at 440-286-4364 with any questions. Trash day is for Hambden residents only.
Zoning Commission Vacancy
Trustees are looking for a Hambden resident to serve as an alternate on the township zoning commission. The zoning commission meets on the first Monday of each month.
Members review and update the township zoning regulations. The alternate position only has voting rights if there is not a quorum at a meeting, but his or her input in decision-making is always welcome.

Fire Dept. Clam/Steak Bake
Hambden Fire Department is holding its first clam and steak bake of the season at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the fire station. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased from any of firefighters or at the station, 440-285-3329.
Dinner includes a dozen clams or a steak, chicken, corn, sweet potatoes and a beverage. An extra dozen clams can be purchased for $10.
Be sure to get tickets early because this event is sure to sell out. A second clambake will be held in October.
