Choir Practices Begin Oct. 18
The Good Tidings Benefit Choir is recruiting voices for the 26th annual free holiday concert for the Geauga Hunger Task Force. There are no auditions, just a willingness to sing Christmas music, including Handel’s “Messiah.” Anyone 14 and older may join.
Practices start Oct. 18 at the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson Township, and will be held from 2-4 p.m. each Sunday until the performances Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 3 p.m.

GANG Features Ceramist
Oct. 20, 6:30-8 p.m.
The Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) program will feature potter and ceramist Michael Maguire at Heinen’s Cafe, 402 Center St. in Chardon. Host for the evening will be Chesterland-based photographer Frank Fende.
Maguire will share stories and examples of his work, which is particularly notable for its unique colors and textures and for the fact that he donates 100 percent of the money earned from selling it to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. His talk will focus on the techniques and processes he uses to produce his art.
Maguire’s work has taken honors for the last two years at the Geauga Council for Arts and Culture’s annual juried art shows. His training has included classes with the Cleveland Institute of Art, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and the Penland School of Crafts.
The educational program is free and open to the general public; no reservations are necessary.
