Save the Date
The Munson Township Fire Department will hold its annual Halloween party for Munson residents of all ages on Oct. 31 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the fire station located at 12200 Auburn Road. Costumes are encouraged. There will be games, refreshments and fun for all. It is a safer choice than door-to-door trick or treating. Monetary donations (no candy) are welcome, but not necessary.
#1 Dog Contest
Geauga County Auditor, Frank Gliha, is asking fourth and fifth-grade students in Geauga County to submit a short essay relating why they think their dog is #1. Essays must be submitted no later than Nov. 2. The essays will be judged by staff from Geauga County and Burton public libraries.
The winner will receive the #1 dog license for 2016 from Mr. Gliha on Dec. 1. For more information, call 440-279-1614.
Emerald Leader Nominations
Leadership Geauga is accepting nominations for the 2016 Leadership Geauga County Emerald Leader Award. The award recognizes a Geauga County resident who has significantly enhanced Geauga County’s quality of life.

At the Senior Center
Musicians are needed for the Good Times Band at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson. Players of all levels and from all senior centers are welcome. The band meets from 12:30-2 p.m. every Wednesday.
Also, at the Chardon Senior Center, the library is open daily with large print books and a low vision machine that magnifies text for easy reading. There are also computers to use.
Volunteers are needed to help assist seniors and help with shelving books.

With the Arts
The Geauga Park District extends an invitation to meet the artists from the Berea Fine Arts Club and view their nature-inspired artwork on Oct. 23 from 7-9 p.m. at the West Woods Nature Center, Russell Township. Refreshments served.

Munson Fire Department
Please vote for the 1.75-mill, five-year tax levy renewal for the Munson Fire Department, which will be on the Nov. 3 ballot. The Munson Fire Department and emergency medical service are unsurpassed in Geauga County and needs support to continue its excellent services to residents.

Reminder
Good Tidings Benefit Choir rehearses Sundays from 2-4 p.m. at Notre Dame Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson. Ages 14 and up are welcome. Concerts will be held Dec. 5 and 6.
