Munson Twp. Scholarships

Munson Township is offering a minimum of two $500 scholarships to Munson senior high school students who will be graduating in June 2016. Requirements for applicants are a cumulative GPA of 2.8 and plan to attend an accredited two or four-year college, university or career or technical institution in the fall of 2016.

Applications are available at all are high schools, the township hall or online at www.munsontwp.com. Applications must be received at the township hall no later than Jan. 11.

At the Senior Center

The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, offers line dancing Dec. 28 from 12:45-1:45 p.m. and round dancing Dec. 29 from 1-2:30 p.m.

An informative lecture, “Eat to Live,” will be offered to seniors interested in partaking of a healthy diet on Dec. 29 from 1-1:45 p.m. in the library room.

Celebrate Recovery

The next meeting of the Christian 12-step addictions recovery program offered by Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson, will be Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. Fellowship and a free meal will be served at 6:15 p.m. The weekly meetings are free and open to all seeking help. Free Sunday Dinner

St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson, will offer a free Sunday dinner Jan. 3 in the Fellowship Room. There will be a choice of soups, breads, desserts and more. Donations are not necessary, but will be appreciated. For more information or to help prepare or serve the dinner, call 440-286-4641.

Shutterbugs Camera Club

If a camera is one of your Christmas presents, consider joining the Geauga Shutterbugs Camera Club. The club will meet Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bostwick Room of the Chardon Library on Chardon Square.

Monthly meetings are free and open to all ages and experience of photography enthusiasts. Attendees are invited to bring their work for friendly critiques.

Happy Holidays

A merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Please do not drive if celebrating by drinking alcoholic beverages. Geauga County Sheriff Dan McClelland will have extra patrols to hopefully stop drunk drivers from hurting or killing themselves and others on the roads. If you observe someone too drunk to drive, offer to take him or her home. The life you save, may be your own or that of someone you love.
