The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 15 through Jan. 21. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 321 calls during this seven-day period.
SUSPICIOUS
Jan. 18
9:14 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Claridon. Looking at the house, the house to the left there is a flood light on the side of the house that is flashing. Caller isn’t sure why it’s doing it and has never happened before. Deputy advised. Malfunctioning motion light on the garage. Not currently flashing. Home-owner is aware.
Jan. 19
1:18 a.m., Old State Road, Claridon. Out with a gray Ford pickup in Grandview Golf Course parking lot. Occupied twice. Two juveniles were sled riding down the hill at Grandview Golf Course and lost track of time. Their mother was contacted and advised she knew where they were. Advice was given to both the mother and the juveniles.
TRAFFIC
Jan. 15
12:53 a.m., Huntley Road, Huntsburg. Jeep in the ditch on it’s side. Occupant of vehicle contacted Interstate Towing and asked them to come pull the vehicle out. Occupant told Interstate Towing he did not want the police notified. Occupant called Interstate back and requested they call him when their wrecker is on scene. Occupant left the scene and advised Interstate that he is 3-4 houses up the street. Interstate does not have a name for the male, they have a phone number.
WEAPON OFFENSE
Jan. 15
6:05 p.m., Kile Road, Claridon. Neighbor to the north about a quarter mile is shooting red tracer rounds into the sky and the caller’s son thinks they may be coming down on the caller’s house. Deputy responded. Everything checked 1-4-1, no damage to callers property, spoke with firearm owner and he explained the tracer rounds.
