The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 29 through Feb. 4. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 328 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Jan. 30

2:43 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. There is a coyote looking animal on Auburn Road near the Chardon Park near Mentor Road. It was just sitting there watching cars. Concerned about people if they go to the park and for kids that may live in the area.

INFO REPORT

Jan. 29

1:30 a.m., Colchester Drive, Auburn. Someone in a chat room told caller they were going to “swat” her. Caller states they have her IP address. OMEGLE.com in the chat room she was in. She states it connects random strangers. Caller states she didn’t know what the term “swat” meant, so she googled it. The caller does not want to meet with a deputy, she just wants us to have a record of the incident. The caller has left the chat room and does not plan on returning to it.

NOISE PROBLEM

Feb. 3

8:39 p.m., Knotty Pine Lane, Hambden. Dog recording playing from speaker towards their house from the neighbors house, complainant request to see an officer. This is an on going neighbor dispute. Deputy sat in the driveway for a few minutes and did not hear anything. The complainant was advised and given advice on possible civil issues.

SUSPICIOUS

Jan. 31

3:12 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller is at the used car lot on the North West corner of 322 and 608. He was looking at cars and found that one of the vehicles had keys left in it. He doesn’t know what to do with the keys. Caller is in a green conversion van. Caller was advised to put the keys under the floor mat and to lock the vehicle. Deputy retrieved keys from complainant. Unable to reach owner. Keys will be left in records for owner to pick up.

Feb. 1

1:48 a.m., Linda Drive, Newbury. Someone tried to come in the front door, rattled the knob. The caller got up and the person took off. The caller does not know if they were on foot, but he did not hear a vehicle. Caller has no idea who it could have been and does not have a description. Deputy met with complainant. Both units checked the entire area and found no one. Complainant checked his unlocked truck and nothing is missing from it. Complainant was advised to lock his vehicle and to call back if any further problems arise.

UNCONSCIOUSNESS

Feb. 2

3:30 p.m., Winchester Drive, Munson. The caller is elderly and said someone is passed out at his house. The caller and his friend have been drinking all day. He is breathing. He fell off of the chair. He does not see any injuries from the fall. His friend had a couple of shots of whiskey. The caller has also been doing shots of whiskey. The patient is also 85 years old. The caller is yelling at the patient to try to get him to respond. The patient is blinking his eyes but not talking. Deputy arrived on scene and provided assistance.

VANDALISM

Feb. 4

12:43 a.m., Magnolia Lane, Auburn. There are two young smaller males outside that are hanging a net on my garage door. I don’t know if there is any vehicles. My house is locked and I have an alarm system. Caller called back to state it was shadows. Caller states he was confused and saw shadows. Deputy checked the area and nothing suspicious observed.
