Welcome Back
Dennis M. Pilawa, esquire, has returned to the Munson Township Board of Zoning Appeals after having resigned as the board’s chairman in 2004 due to time conflicts with his law practice. Dennis served a number of years as the board’s chairman prior to his resignation. He was immediately nominated and elected by the other board members to resume the chairmanship at the Jan. 21 meeting.

The primary election will be held March 15. It is an important primary for Geauga County.
Applications for absentee ballots are being accepted at the Geauga County Board of Elections, 470 Center St., Building 6-A, Chardon.

WomenSafe Resale Shoppe
The WomenSafe Resale Shoppe is located in Drug Mart Plaza, 12601 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. It offers a variety of new and used household items, clothing for adults and children and works of art.
Hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. Donations are always welcome during store hours.
Proceeds benefit the free services and accommodations offered to victims of domestic violence at WomenSafe’s Green House on Ravenna Road, Munson.
At The Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, offers free income tax service to Geauga County senior residents now through April 8. To schedule an appointment and for a complete list of necessary items to bring for this service, call 440-279-2130.
Also at the Chardon Senior Center, free pancake breakfasts are held the first Friday of each month from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Donations are welcome. Reservations must be made three days in advance by calling 440-279-2131.
Snow closing policy: Chardon Senior Center will be closed if county offices are closed. To verify closing, call 440-279-2130.
Amateur Radio Association
The Geauga Amateur Radio Association (GARA) will meet Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Geauga County Emergency Operations Center, 12513 Merritt Road, Munson. The monthly meetings are open to all licensed “hams” and those interested in becoming familiar with this type of talk radio.
