Family Science Day

The Chardon Local Schools faculty invites the community to a free event where Chardon students can explore, create and discover the magic of science. Chardon Family Science Day will be held April 10 in the Chardon High School gym from 124 p.m.

An open house format, students can visit over 20 different hands-on stations and have fun while exploring science. Topics will include straw rockets, mini-hovercrafts, experimental design, and forensic science with fingerprint identification.

A concession stand will be open during the event. The first 300 students in grades K-8 will receive a complimentary backpack and pen when arriving at the event to carry anything they create and handouts they receive at the stations. All participants will be given a ticket at each station they investigate to put in a drawing to win many great prizes, including a GoPro Hero.

Congratulations, as well, to Laney McBean, John Meleski and Marisa Organiscak for being selected to participate in The Ohio State University Middle School Honor Band on Feb. 27 in Columbus. It is an honor for all of these students and a true reflection of their hard work. Best of luck at the scheduled performances.
