The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 12 through Feb. 18. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 294 calls during this seven-day period.
BURGLARY
Feb. 17
3:59 p.m., Ledge Road, Thompson. Caller states that it looks like someone tried to break in to her house today. There are footprints on the door and the door is cracked. Caller states they did not get in and nothing is missing, but would like to file a report. Report taken, appears to be weather related damage.
PARKING PROBLEM
Feb. 17
2:46 p.m., Burton Heights Blvd., Burton. There is a dark blue car blocking my driveway. It belongs to the people across the street. They refuse to stop parking there. Caller also said that the parents are not home a lot and there are cars in and out of the drive all day. Canceled per complainant. They moved the vehicles.
SUSPICIOUS
Feb. 12
6:43 p.m., Fowlers Mill Road, Munson. 13-year-old child called 911 and said a 17-year-old was sending inappropriate messages. When dispatch asked where the child’s parents are, they hung up. Deputy spoke with the mother, she advised no need for police response; there was a misunderstanding.
THEFT
Feb. 13
8:21 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller says that he dropped $50 inside the store and he says the clerk picked the money up and won’t give it back. He says the clerk denies having the money. Deputy spoke with complainant, he advised that he did not know where he lost the money and never saw it fall out of his glove, nor did he witness anyone pick it up.
