Local high schools are offering spring musical productions. Tickets for the following productions may be purchased at the door or ahead of time by contacting each school. Information was provided by the Geauga Council for Arts and Culture.
Berkshire High School: “Little Shop of Horrors,” April 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. Directed by Jim Lester.
Cardinal High School: “Classic Rodgers and Hammerstein Story,” April 15 and 16 at 8 p.m. and April 17 at 2 p.m. Directed by Joel Kithcart and Josh Esenwine.
Chardon High School: “Aida,” March 16, 7 p.m. dress rehearsal free to senior citizens; March 17-19 at 7 p.m. and March 20 at 2 p.m. Directed by Fritz Streiff.
Kenston High School: “Damn Yankees,” April 14, 7 p.m. dress rehearsal free to senior citizens; April 15-17 at 7 p.m. Directed by Steven Hoffman.
Newbury High School: “Cinderella” (Enchanted version), April 8 and 9, 7 p.m. Directed by Jack Tayek.
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin: “The Secret Garden,” March 5 and 12, 7 p.m.; March 6, 2 p.m.; and March 9, 6 p.m. Directed by Shirley Ivancic Stall.
Ovations, an awards evening sponsored by Geauga Council for Arts and Culture to honor the work of the schools, will be held at 7 p.m. May 2 at Geauga Theater.
Messiah Choir Returns To Benefit Food Pantries
March 12, 7 p.m. and March 13, 3 p.m.
The Good Tidings Benefit Choir will continue its legacy of raising spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force by performing the Easter sections of GF Handel’s “Messiah” at Notre Dame Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson.
The choir is under the direction of Robert Boles and accompanied by Joy Leirer. Soloists this season will be Robert Boles, Laura Christian, Sara Hamrick, Colleen Juhasz, Sylvia Jurcak, Brenda Moosbrugger, Charles Moosbrugger, and Aubrey Woods. Attendees will be invited to join in the Hallelujah chorus.
The performances are free, but a goodwill offering will be taken.
