The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 26 through March 3. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 332 calls during this seven-day period.

BURGLARY

Feb. 26

12:52 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Huntsburg. At approximately 11 a.m. today the main Amish employee was at the house alone when someone attempted to kick in the front door. No description on the male. He was driving a small black car. The property owner is now at the house to meet with the deputy.

Feb. 28

12:46 a.m., Taylor Wells Road, Claridon. Returned from out of town, bedroom window has been broken out and house is torn up. Resident waiting in the garage. Caller has been out of town for nine days. There are footprints in the bedroom. Complainants wife called to advise a bloody towel was located in the main room. It was located last night but they did not notice the blood at the time.

CITIZEN’S ASSIST

Feb. 27

2:47 p.m., Beechwood Drive, Newbury. On Monday Feb. 22 the caller sold a Jeep to a subject from Erie, PA. The caller then realized that he left his plates on the vehicle as well as some items in the vehicle and the buyer is refusing to call him back. He is concerned about what this subject is going to do with his plates. Deputy spoke with the complainant, and then contacted the individual that purchased the truck. The individual stated that all the items the complainant wanted back were already being sent back in the mail.

DISABLED VEHICLE

Feb. 29

4:19 a.m., Kinsman Road & Sperry Road. Jeep stuck at the old driving range. Caller is a tow truck driver for AAA and isn’t sure if they’re trespassing. The caller is on Sperry, he would like a deputy to check it out to make sure they weren’t doing anything illegal before he removes the vehicle. AAA removed both vehicles, no damage to either car. Subject will stop back by Wednesday to fix the damage to the yard at the old driving range on Sperry Road.

PHONE HARASSMENT

Feb. 27

8:50 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Troy. Caller says that her 11-year-old daughter is receiving text messages wanting to send nude pictures to her. The text messages were coming from a female. The mother does not know if there are messages on her phone still or not. The messages that did go through were explicit in nature. Deputy advised. The phone number returned to Ontario, Canada. The number was blocked and all of its content was deleted prior to my arrival. The complainant was advised to keep the number blocked in case of any further incidents.

SUSPICIOUS

Feb. 28

7:35 p.m., Mumford Road, Troy. Caller wants to meet a deputy. He states someone dug a ditch in the front yard of his sister’s house. His sister was attacked a couple weeks ago. She did file a police report about that incident. There was another incident a couple weeks ago when someone broke into the house. The complainant wanted this report on file for any future incidents. Someone dug out her drain tile in the front yard. She doesn’t know who would have done this.

March 2

7:39 p.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Caller found footprints on the back porch in the snow. He believes it happened this morning. Caller advises everything is normal except for the footprints. Deputy advised. The complainant wanted report on file. He observed footprints around his house. They appear to have come from the driveway to the east of the house onto his back deck. No signs of any attempted forced entry.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

March 2

7:03 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Female came into the gas station. She appeared intoxicated. Female bought two four locos and opened one in the store. She then got into the driver’s seat and left.

VANDALISM

March 1

4:39 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. Someone hit the caller’s mailbox. Deputy advised. There are car parts in the area. The caller does not know who hit the mailbox. The complainant called back and said she found a OSHP business car in her mailbox. Crash was handled by OSHP.
