Electromagnetic Fishing Poles
Eighth-graders in Mrs. Darla Hollowell’s science class demonstrated their understanding of electromagnetism by creating electromagnetic fishing poles. Students were given a list of materials, including wire, battery, pole, switch and iron core to construct their fishing pole.
They concluded their project by testing the poles’ functionality and strength in a fishing derby.
The winning team of Monte Myer, Joe Barcikoski, Garrett Sah and David Martin Kosier reeled in 72 paper clips.
100 Days Of School
Kindergarteners in Mrs. Wollenberg’s class celebrated 100 days of school by bringing in 100 of their favorite items. Jelly beans, raisins, pennies, Legos, crayons and sea shells were a few of the items brought in by the students.
Apple Jack Cookies
Mrs. Karen Melaragno helps the second-graders in Mrs. Hope Bartholomew’s class use math in the real world by baking apple jack cookies. Students learned how to read a recipe and use the tools for measuring ingredients.
