Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

April 5, 1 p.m.

The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.

Guest speaker is Dr. Harmat, an orthopedic doctor who specializes in shoulders, elbows and hands. He will answer any questions after the program.

After the program, there will be a brief meeting and information about the first trip of the season to Presque It’sle Downs Casino April 27. Cost is $29, with a $25 slot bonus. Sign up at the travel table or call Skip or Marge at 440-338-3607.

The next event is the spaghetti lunch on May 3. Reservations are needed, so come to the meeting for information.

Food and paper products will be collected for the Food For Friends food pantry as well as blankets, towels and dog food for the Geauga County Dog Shelter.

AARP Safe Driver’s Class

April 22, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

West Geauga Senior Center will host an AARP Safe Driver’s class. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Class fee is payable the day of class, but preregistration is required.

And May Cleanups

In order to be placed on the cleanup list, one must first be registered with the Geauga County Department on Aging, be 60 years of age or older and live in the community holding the trash pickup.

For more information and to register, call the Department on Aging at 440-279-2129, 440-279-2135 or 440-279-2130 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

No liquids, paint or other hazardous materials, unused medications, construction debris, rocks, yard waste, or household garbage will be accepted.

Tires off the rims (limited to four in some areas), appliances, mattresses (wrapped and taped securely) and other unwanted items will be accepted.

All material should be consolidated in strong boxes and items should be kept dry and covered with a tarp if possible. Only 10 household items per home and the trash should be from the registered senior’s household only.

When registering, please indicate if assistance is needed removing items from the home.

Do not leave items curbside.

Chester Township

Munson Township

April 25-27

Reduce wood or pipe to six-foot or less lengths. No televisions, computer monitors or small appliances with electrical components will be accepted.

To dispose of a junk auto or truck, call the township directly at 440-286-9255.
