The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office April 1 through April 7. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 290 calls during this seven-day period.

BURGLARY

April 1

12:27 a.m., Walking Stick Lane, Hambden. Front door was open, jewelry, electronics and other items missing from the home. Unknown if anyone is still in the home. Male has walked through the house and didn’t see anyone. Caller has been advised for everyone to get out of the home and not to touch anything. Caller will be waiting in the car with the family.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

April 6

6:21 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Group of 5-6 male juveniles walking through the parking lot, they pounded on the windows today. Yesterday, they kicked the garage door and put a dent in the door. The juveniles are not at the YMCA at the front desk being held by the manager. Deputy responded. No damage to any property. Spoke with the business owner who just wanted the kids spoken to and the parents were made aware. Involved kids admitted to their part and were spoken to about their behavior.

SUSPICIOUS

April 3

10:03 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Caller states there is a truck stuck in the field across the street. The property across the street is vacant. Deputy advised. Vehicle pulled into the driveway too far and got stuck in the field attempting to turn around.

April 7

9:09 p.m., Taylor Wells Road, Claridon. Seven young males went to the caller’s elderly parent’s house across the street saying that they were Kirby Vacuum salesman. They were in a dark colored caravan. Caller would like to speak with a deputy about this incident. They think it was very suspicious. The males left approximately 40 minutes ago. She believes they may have been looking to steal something from the house or looking to rob the house at a later date.
