S’mores with Moms
The St. Mary PTU planned a special night out at Holden Arboretum for mothers and their sons. The group was treated to pond-skimming, hiking and outdoor play. There was lots of dirt and mud. The group ended the night making a craft together and enjoying s’mores.
Kindergarten Dominos
The St. Mary kindergarten class talked about sharing joy during a religion lesson last week. They learned that when they are happy and smile at others, it makes others happy. They in turn will be happy and kind to others as well.
The class investigated the idea of the domino effect. When one person is affected in positive way, they will reach out to others. Just like when one touches one domino, the next will touch until they are all touched.
One student said, “I am going to wreck the dominoes.”
The teacher then corrected that by saying he isn’t going to wreck the dominoes, he is going to start the effect. What can students do to start the effect in school and in their families?
