The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 20 through May 26. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 500 calls during this seven-day period.

EXTRA PATROL

May 25

6:03 p.m., Ravenna Road, Newbury. Sportbike drives in the area regulary at a high rate of speed and the bike is very loud. Caller is concerned for safety. Caller states he dries in a square starting at Messenger w/b and takes Auburn n/b then takes Bell heading e/b then s/b on Ravenna to Messenger again. This occurs periodically, no set times. Caller requesting extra patrol in the area.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

May 25

9:41 p.m., Mumford Road, Troy. The caller said there are kids entering the woods near the cemetery. The caller lives next to the cemetery. The neighbor called the complainant and stated the kids were heard talking about destroying a house in the area. Deputy checked area and was unable to locate. Complainant believes they walked North and believes they came from Montville Plastics area.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

May 23

2:01 p.m., Mayfield Road, Huntsburg. Forced entry made into the Shelter house. Next to the Club house. Not sure if they took anything, they may have been scared off by our arrival this a.m. Deputy spoke to the property owner who reported someone overnight stole an old garbage can, 18th hole flag and four light bulbs from the pavilion. The suspects also cut the padlock to the keg, pop cooler and attempted to gain entry into an exterior shed. No other items are missing at this time. Party only requests extra patrol of the area during overnight hours.

SUSPICIOUS

May 20

6:21 p.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. There is a van and a SUV?parked by the baseball diamond. The caller stated he is only aware of tractors being allowed at the baseball diamond and would like the vehicles checked. He does not need to meet with a deputy. Checks ok, one vehicle moved, the other has permission to be parked there due to somebody on crutches.

May 22

4:42 a.m., Copperleaf Drive, Hambden. Caller hears a male and female arguing on Copperleaf. There is a house with all the lights on. She thinks it may be coming from there. Complainant called back to say they are on the back porch of the house now. They are screaming louder now. Deputy advised. A bunch of high schoolers after prom, swimming in a pool. No disturbance was going on and everybody was just having a good time.

May 22

4:44 p.m., Shaw Road, Auburn. Caller was digging post for a chicken coop and came across three bones and a jacket approximately two feet down. Caller does not know whether these bones belong to an animal or a human. He is concerned they may be human because of the jacked that was found with them. Deputy looked at the bones in the ground. Appears to be pelvic bone of a small dog, compared with petmd.com.

VANDALISM

May 21

10:57 p.m., Eastpoint Drive, Huntsburg. Someone just knocked on the front door and then egged the door. Unknown if they are still in the area. Complainants front door and garage main door had been egged. Complainant stated he did not see any vehicle or people outside, he just heard the noise of eggs hitting his door. He stated he never had problems like this before and does not know who would have done this.

WEAPON OFFENSE

May 21

8:40 p.m., White Oak Drive, Auburn. Caller states his neighbors were shooting and he believes a bullet hit his roof. Deputy advised. The complainant thought he heard a round from a gun hit his roof. He couldn’t find any damage and would just like this incident on file for future reference. Deputy checked the area unable to locate anyone shooting.
