Middle School Tour
The fourth-graders got a tour of the middle school on May 25. Students had lunch in the cafeteria and completed some problem solving activities. Then, each fourth-grade class was led around the school by fifth-grade tour guides to show the students all of the important areas of school, including the fifth-grade hall, art room, band room, locker rooms and bathrooms.
Following the tour, Principal Sabol answered any additional questions the fourth-graders had before they returned to the intermediate school.
Everyone is so excited for their new adventures next school year and knows they’ll all be great at the middle school.

Bringing Outsiders to Life
Mrs. Robinson and Miss Karg’s eighth-grade English students have been reading “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton.
Darry, Sodapop and Ponyboy love chocolate cake for breakfast. “Sodapop always makes sure there’s some in the ice box every night and if there isn’t he cooks one up real quick … All three of us are crazy about chocolate stuff.”
After reading and answering questions from a nonfiction text (recipe and directions) for Sodapop’s Chocolate Cake,
students followed the directions and made their own cupcakes. Some students even went so far as to get into character as either a “Greaser” or a “Soc” and dress the part.
