Important Upcoming Dates
The start of the 2016-17 school year is Aug. 17 and there are many pre-back to school activities students and parents need to mark on the calendar.
Jordak Elementary/Cardinal Intermediate School
Early August: Class lists will be posted on the doors for the 2016-17 school year.
Kindergarten Orientation: Aug. 12. Boys will attend from 9-11 a.m. and girls will attend from 1-3 p.m. Students and parents will participate in a scavenger hunt around the school to acclimate students with important areas of the building like their classroom, restrooms, the gym, and cafeteria. Students will also have a chance to meet their teacher and see their classroom.
Parents, please bring the student’s supplies for the upcoming school year and any additional forms that need to be turned in. Jordak can’t wait to meet the Class of 2029.
Open House: Aug. 16, 4-5 p.m. Students and parents are invited to come tour the schools their students will attend for the upcoming year and meet their teachers. It is an exciting way to kick off the start of the new school year.
Cardinal Middle School
Locker Setup: Aug. 10, 3:30-5:30 p.m. CMS will be welcoming students to see the building, find their classrooms and practice opening, decorating or filling lockers with school supplies. Supply lists are available online and at the Middlefield Public Library and Wal-Mart. SchoolKidz supply boxes will be ready for pickup at this time and during open house for those who preordered them.
Extra copies of schedules will not be available, so be sure to bring all of schedule and locker information. Check it out on IC or download the IC mobile app to access the information from one’s phone anytime.
Open House: Aug. 16, 5-6 p.m. CMS will host its open house. Everyone looks forward to seeing students as they walk their schedules, meet their teachers and get excited about the first day of school.
Cardinal High School
College Credit Plus Information Night: Aug. 11, 6-7 p.m. in the multi purpose room. Additional information will be posted about the meeting on the school website in early August.
Freshman iPad Rollout and Orientation: Aug. 12. Incoming freshmen are invited to come to the high school anytime from 12:302 p.m. to receive their iPad for the 2016-17 school year. Orientation for the class will follow the distribution at 2 p.m.
