Home Delivered Holiday Meals
The Geauga County Department on Aging will offer a free traditional meal to any Geauga County seniors, age 60 and older, who will be home and alone on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, and/or Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
Because the offices are closed, there will be no Home Delivered Meal delivery or congregate meals on Nov. 24 or Dec. 25. Instead, holiday meals are available by preorder only.
In order to ensure holiday meal delivery, complete an order form and mail to the Department on Aging, 12555 Ravenwood Drive Chardon, OH 44024 as soon as possible. For more information or to sign up for a meal, call the department on aging at 440-279-2130.

- Safety for Seniors: Nov. 17, 11 a.m. Presented by Ann Walden of Job & Family Services, learn how to spot warning signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation, common statistics and facts and resources available to protect seniors. Free.
Long-Term Care Workshop
Nov. 15, 11:15 a.m.
Licensed agents Mark Fishwick and Jennifer LaLime will present the long-term health care education workshop at Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive. Every attendee will receive a free copy of “The ABC’s of LTC.”
Individual consultations may be scheduled by request after the workshop. Refreshments will be served at the event.

November Lunch & Learn

Geauga seniors, 60 years of age and older, are invited to the Geauga County Department on Aging’s Lunch & Learn for November at Briarcliff Manor, 14807 North State St. in Middlefield. Come out and enjoy a free lunch and speaker who will discuss The Post-Acute Experience: What to Expect from Short-Term Rehabilitation.”
This Lunch & Learn is the final installment in a six-part series that take place at various health care facilities around Geauga County.

Easing Holiday Stress
Dec. 9, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Alzheimer’s Association, Cleveland Area Chapter, Sound Inspirations Music Therapy LLC, and Bella Care Hospice will present “Easing the Stress of the Holidays” at West Geauga Senior Center, 12646 West Geauga Plaza Unit 4, in Chester Township.
The program is designed to give caregivers helpful hints and tips that will be useful during the holiday season while caring for their loved one with dementia. Learn how to use music to de-stress. Lunch provided by Bella Care Hospice.
