Cavs Straight A All Stars
Congratulations to the Q1 Cleveland Cavaliers Straight A All-Stars. They are third-graders Mercedes B., Bethany C. and Emma C. The ladies each received a special Cavs Straight A All-Star T-shirt along with two tickets to the Cavs game Dec. 10. All students who receive straight A’s are entered into the contest. Congratulations, ladies – we hope you enjoyed the game and keep up the great work.
Holiday Headquarters
There were some fantastic presents under the tree for families this year thanks to the PTA Holiday Headquarters at Jordak Elementary School. Students in grades K-4 had an opportunity to shop and have their presents wrapped. There was so much to choose from; it was tough to make a decision for some, but our pups put much thought behind their selections and the school knows everyone will love what they receive. Thanks to the PTA for once again putting on the event for the students.
School Closing Reminder
As the winter weather finally makes its way into the area, the school district reminds parents about the Snow Line, the number one can call to check to see if the schools are open on a particular day.
Please keep this number on hand should one need to use it: 440-632-0261, option 9. The message on the line is usually updated by 6 a.m. if a closing has been issued.
For additional information, please visit the weather statement on the district website, www.cardinalschools.org.
Player Of The Week
Congratulations to Cardinal High School sophomore Camille C. on being named one of the Ward’s Lawn Care & Landscape Company Players of the Week for the week ending Dec. 18.
“We count on Camille to be able to play every position on the floor, help bring the ball up against pressure defenses and often guard the opposing team’s best post player,” said Cardinal coach Luke Kruse. “In a close contest, I find it very difficult to take Camille out of the game as her effort, court vision and ability to put the ball in the basket are a great asset to our team.”
Cummins leads the team in rebounds and steals and is second in points, assists and blocks.
