Kenston Middle School is holding parent teacher conferences Feb. 9 from 3-7 p.m. in the gym. The high school also hosts parent conferences from 4-8 p.m. in their gymnasium.
Timmons Lunch Bunch
Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School Students selected for Lunch Bunch honors in January.
Kindergartners honored with “self control” awards were Gabriella Agresta, Emerson Bargiel, Liam Conochan, Claire Heiman, Chloe Mays, Ella Skladany and Parker Timmons.
First-graders honored were Lyla Bienias, Avery Buchanan, Drew Devlin, Dominic Eberly, Lillian Hajde, Caroline Hamby and Michael Puma.
Second-graders were Gina Kuczma, Demetria Marshall, Aedan McIvor, Claire Muzzio, Kaitence Paystrup, Danica Pierce and Anthony Tomaselli.
Third-graders were William Drushel, Jason Garvin, Luke Lombardo, Lana Mills, Jacob Smith, Donald (Trey) Wieland and Cole Wise.
KMS Students of the Month
Kenston Middle School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month.
Students selected are sixth-graders Morgan Blackford, Mary Cowan, Graham LaGanke and Logan Toft; seventh-graders Leah Jarmolowicz, Nya Ku, Peter Maldonado and Jameson Parker; and eighth-graders Elizabeth Horwitz, Jenna Piazza, Ethan Thorne and Maxwell Vollrath.
Speech and Debate
At the Solon Speech and Debate Tournament, Tia Speece qualified for state placing second in the Lincoln Douglas debate with five wins and no losses. Morgan Spehar placed third in Informative Speaking. The Duo Interpretation team of Savannah Georgian and Megan Herbruck reached semifinals.
College Credit Plus Program
The College Credit Plus Program (formerly Postsecondary Enrollment Options) allows eligible students in grades 7-12 to take a college course and earn high school and college credit that appears on both their high school and college transcripts. Students must meet eligibility requirements set forth by the college or university to participate.
Students and parents interested in participating in the program for the 2017-18 school year must attend the College Credit Plus night at Kenston High School, Robert A. Lee Auditorium on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
Representatives from area colleges and universities will be available to answer questions. Specific details on the program will be progressively added to the guidance website and in the high school guidance office as they become available.
Incoming Kindergarten Parent Meeting
Information night for incoming kindergarten parents will be held Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at Timmons Elementary School for children entering kindergarten in August. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30.
Registration packets must be picked up at this time.
Kindergarten registration packets are different from those posted online.
Kindergarten registration will be held on March 6 from 8-11 a.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. at Timmons Elementary School. Please bring the completed packet, support documentation for copying and a calendar to registration.

The Kenston District Spelling Bee was held the end of January.
