40 Developmental Assets Program

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers and the Geauga County YMCA will present “40 Developmental Assets for Adolescents – Building a Bridge to Success” at the Geauga County YMCA, 12460 Bass Lake Road in Chardon.
The educational program will share with parents the 40 assets identified by the Search Institute as those experiences and skills children need to achieve and ultimately be successful. These 40 research-based experiences and qualities divided into external assets and Internal assets, can be identified as building blocks that influence children and ultimately help put them on the path to success. The data collected by the Search Institute was used to develop the Developmental Assets presented in this program.
Presenters for the workshop will include the Matthew Petersen, OCPS, Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers; Mary-Alice Bell, OCPSII, Ravenwood Health; and Lynn Kempf, retired OCPS, Chardon Community Action Team. The panelists will share with parents what the 40 assets include and answer questions they may have about them.
The program is free, but registration is required. Parents interested in attending may register in person at the Geauga YMCA or by phone at 440-285-7543.
